Real Madrid and Manchester City played out a pulsating, incident-packed 3-3 draw in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final at the Bernabeu on Tuesday night, leaving the tie finely balanced ahead of the second leg at the Etihad next week.

City took the lead through Kevin De Bruyne's 2nd minute penalty, only for Karim Benzema to equalize for Real on 11th minute. Phil Foden put City back in front just before the half-hour mark, but Vinicius Junior levelled things up again for the hosts shortly after.

The second half continued in the same vein, with Bernardo Silva putting City ahead for the third time on 74th minute, only for Real substitute Rodrygo to make it 3-3 just two minutes later.

Despite the end-to-end nature of the match, both sides had chances to win it late on, with Riyad Mahrez and Benzema both going close for their respective teams.

The draw leaves the tie finely poised ahead of the second leg in Manchester on April 12th. City will be confident of overturning the result at home, but Real have a good record at the Etihad and will fancy their chances of reaching the semi-finals.
